2008 Gala A Success!
More than 350 guests attended Blue Ocean Institute's 2008 Gala at Tribeca Rooftop on Oct. 1. We honored Dr. Julie Packard, founder of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, marine ecosystem expert Dr. Enric Sala, and multiple Grammy-Award winner Paul Winter. We unveiled our new Guide to Ocean Friendly Sushi, presented a brief video of Carl Safina's television series in development, Saving the Ocean! With Carl Safina, and raised more than $300,000 to fund our marine conservation programs.
